Vending Machines: Then and Now
There really were no good places to get food other than the cafeteria, though calling the cafeteria good food was a stretch. There was this counter in the student center but other than that you either went out to eat or went to a vending machine. The vending machines were very different from what you have today. It wasn't so much snacks as parts of meals. So instead of being filled with bags of chips it had a row of chips and a row of fruit and a row of drinks. The row at the bottom was sandwiches. No one bought those unless they were desperate. Who wants an egg salad sandwich thats been siting there for who knows how long?
