Title

Sage
Description
An account of the resource
Sage is one of the most recognizable items in witchcraft, however it is also quite controversial. White sage is what is used in smudging, which is a closed practice as it comes directly from indigenous spiritual practice. While walking around burning sage is not actually smudging, the issue is the indigenous territory being destroyed to harvest white sage for commercial sale. There are dozens of types of sage, all work equally as well for smoke cleansing, so does burning lavender or rosemary. The misconception that witches smudge with white sage is incorrect and harmful when new people are trying to get into the practice, but do not research first.
