Description

This is a north and east view of Lois Hall (Frost & Granger, 1899). Printed on the reproduced photograph postcard (superimposed, lower right) : "822B" Printed on the reverse sideways on left: "H. B. Brooks Photograph Postcard/1141 Roscoe ... Chicago, Illinois" Postmarked 1924. Sent to Mr. Iver Barlow, St. Paul, MN; handwritten on the reverse side of the postcard, in light blue ink, the following: "Dearest Dad, This is where I live. I can't mark the room because it is in the back of the hall. Tell Palina (?) that Aug and Grace were initiated into Kappa Alpha, the honorary sorority. Isn't that wonderful? We had a wonderful time at Grace's this weekend, Love, Esther."  The 1931 General Register of lake Forest College 1865-1931 http://www.archive.org/stream/generalregistero1931lake#page/104/mode/2up/search/barlow shows on p. 105 that Esther Barlow, Class of 1927 (graduate) by 1931 was a childrens' librarian in Rogers Park (Chicago).
