Ragdale living room
Title
Ragdale living room
Description
This image, dated 1970 below, shows the state of the Ragdale living room in the later period of sculptor Sylvia shaw Judson Haskins' life there, while married to Sidney Haskins, second marriages for both, each having lost a spouse. The paneling is thought to have been added to the room in the 1920s, in the architect Howard Shaw (1869-1926) period, Sylvia's father. It was bleached perhaps in 1942, when the Judsons came to live there full time, it being Sylvia's share of the Ragdale estate of her mother, Frances Wells Shaw, who died in the late 1930s. The wall on the left is to the west, with the window facing out and down to the prairie long view. The small print on the west wall is a water color by Frederick Clay Bartlett.
The table on the right appears to be that still in the location.
