Lake Forest's Spring Lane Looking East From Near Mayflower Road Towards the Lake

This view east of Lake Forest University's campus is from an album of photographs from William H. Humiston. Its significance is in showing several key landscape features: the apparently 1870-vintage arbors at the south end of the C. B. Farwell Fairlawn estate, the view east to the lake across Forest Park, and the character of the landscaping on the estates (including the W. H. Smith on the south, or left) and in the park.

Notable is the view open to the lake straight ahead at the end of the road in the park.
