Description
This standard-sized half-tone color postcard of the Glen Flora Country Club, Waukegan, Illinois, was published by E. A. Bishop, Racine, Wisconsin, crediting the C.T. Art-Colortone process, of Chicago postcard maker Curt Teich. This is the third of three E. A. Bishop postcards here for Waukegan, Illinois, parks and landscapes. The postcard was postmarked July 19, 1938, and sent to a Miss E. Zelinski, Berwyn, Illinois by "Irene." Glen Flora Country club was established in 1911, on North Sheridan Road, Waukegan. It is located--in a ravine edge setting informally landscaped in the English-landscape derived manner--on the west side of the road north and west of Bowen Park, the former Bowen Country Club of Hull House, with Jane Addams and Mrs. Bowen.
