Description

Annie Rhea Wilson, Lake Forest University Class of 1881, was the daughter of missionaries who also dedicated her life with her husband to the Presbyterian mission field. Her mother, Sarah Rhea, was also a pioneer woman church and mission-promotion worker in Iran and the U.S. Settled in Lake Forest in the last quarter of the 19th c., she promoted mission donations among he wealthy Lake Forest group and callings to mission work among the students at Lake Forest University and its preparatory schools. Sarah worked for the local church and led programs, after the mid 1870s and a collapse following a national campaign for missions. Annie grew up in the atmosphere and then pursued this vocation herself.
