As you enter Half Day, Illinois, you can see where people live, work, and trade. Just before entering and leaving Half Day, it appears to be wooded.

Looking east on present (U.S.) Route 45, the general store is visible on the right. Ed Kelly's Half Day House (with flag) is on the left. George Stancliff said that his family's house was behind a phone pole on the left.
