Railfan and collector Munson Paddock, 1885-1970, acquired a significant collection of images by the photographer John Reid, a Paterson, NJ, photographer, ca. 1850s-early 1900s. Several locomotive works (Rogers, Grant, etc.) were located at Paterson, a spot with water power picked early in the republic by Alexander Hamilton for manufacturing. this photo is attributed to Reid for being in this collection with many other identified Reid images.
