This is a photo of the Gorton Center in Lake Forest. It was taken in 1908. The Gorton Center was built in 1901, and was originally a K-12 grade school called Central School. It was renamed Gorton School in 1912, after the long-time Lake Forest mayor Edward F. Gorton. It became Lake Forest's community center in December of 1972.
