Title
Allen Loeb estate, 1427 Waverly Road, Highland Park, IL
Description
The 1929 house and landscape at 1427 Waverly Road, Highland Park, IL, both was the creation of architects who worked in Lake Forest (one, Robert G. Work as a Shaw associate would have contributed to campus buldings by Shaw, seven in all from 1908 to 1913 [approx.]). In addition, the Highland Park house and landscape drew on significant architectural and landscape designs executed earlier in Lake Forest--the second Clow house, 111 N. Ridge Lane; the Mrs. McGann house, 965 E. Deerpath; the second Ryerson estate, at Ringwood (north leg) and Sheridan Roads; the Henry Rumsey estate, 900 E. Illinois Rd. and an un-built landscape plan of Jens Jensen for Clyde Carr, 50 N. Mayflower Rd.
The file for this house in the Special Collections reference file (subjcts) is listed as 'hihgland Park, Waverly, 1427." It includes copies of house and landscape plans and other reference material.
