Description

This program for an April 19, 1920 library benefit concert for the Chicago branch of the Alliance Francaise, a French-sponsored cultural outreach agency, gives a history of the group here and also lists members, officers, and benefit patronesses, many of whom had significant ties also to both major Chicago advancement enterprises and also Lake Forest College. The history/description reports that at the time the Alliance in Chicago's library contained 10,000 volumes. The concert took place at Orchestra Hall.
