Description
This is black and white photo of the front of North Hall. This photo was taken after 1897 and prior to the 1960s construction of a modern styled vestibule for the door and an east side fire door.
North Hall was constrcuted by Leon C. Welch in 1880 for Lake Forest Academy, but in 1893 North Hall was converted into a dormitory for Lake Forest College. After 1950 North Hall housed and presently houses the Business and Administration department of the College (Elizabeth A. Birnbaum on North Hall in "Lake Forest College: A Guide to the Campus," 2007, pp. 34).
