A color photo of the front of North Hall, showing the 1960s modernization of the entry doorway, with its vestibule. A separate fire exit is on the right of the vestibule.

North Hall was constrcuted by Leon C. Welch in 1880 for Lake Forest Academy, but in 1893 North Hall was converted into a dormitory for Lake Forest College. After 1950 North Hall housed and presently houses the Business and Administration department of the College (Elizabeth A. Birnbaum on North Hall in "Lake Forest College: A Guide to the Campus," 2007, pp. 34).
